What is EIDBI?

Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI)

This program is aimed to provide the medically necessary early intensive intervention for people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and related conditions while providing education, training, and support to parents and families.

EIDBI promotes independence and participation in family, school, and community life while improving the long-term quality of life for those with ASD and their families.

Who Qualifies for EIDBI?

EIDBI Eligibility Requirements

Comprehensive Evaluation

The person has undergone a comprehensive multi-disciplinary evaluation (CMDE) that establishes medical necessity for the service.

ASD Diagnosis

The person must have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or a related condition.

Medical Assistance (MA) or Qualifying Health Care Program

The person must be enrolled in MA, MinnesotaCare, Meinnesota Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act (MA-TEFRA) or other qualifying health care programs.

Under Age 21

The person must be younger than the age of 21.

How long can you have EIDBI services?

How long can you receive EIDBI services?

Individuals can receive EIDBI services as long as it is deemed clinically necessary, or until they reach the age of 21.
